Ronaldo breaks silence after abandoning Portugal camp
Cristiano Ronaldo has made a statement following his departure from the camp of Portugal’s national team ahead of their Nations League encounter.
The Al Nassr forward announced his departure on Wednesday following a press conference involving the Portuguese national team.
“After the press conference of the national team, and following a conversation with the President of the Portuguese Football Federation, I have decided to leave the national team camp,” Ronaldo said in a social media post.

The 41-year-old did not then addes that he would explain what prompted his departure at a later date.
“In time, I will tell all the Portuguese the truth about the reasons that motivated me to leave the national team, to which I always devoted myself,” he added.
The Portugal all-time leading goalscorer and most-capped player concluded by wishing the team and his international team-mates well.
Ronaldo leaves the national team with 11 World Cup goals and three international trophies: the 2016 European Championship and two UEFA Nations League titles (2019 and 2025).
