Ranchers Bees react to imposition of N5m fine for breaching NPFL rules
Kaduna-based/Kano adopted football club Ranchers Bees has reacted after the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) imposed a N5 million fine on the team for breaching multiple rules during their Matchday 6 fixture against Rivers United at the Sani Abacha Stadium.
The N5 million fine imposed on the team was announced on Thursday by the NPFL Chief Executive Officer, Dr Ayo Abdulrahman, after the club allowed the game played at its home ground to snowball into a physical altercation mostly involving fans of the club as aggressors.
A summary of NPFL sanctions slammed on Ranchers Bees following the behaviour by players and fans of the club includes; a ₦2 million for failing to provide effective security, and allowing unauthorized persons into restricted stadium areas.
The club was also fined ₦1 million for failing to restrain players and bench officials who threatened and harassed match officials, and another ₦1 million for supporters attempting to attack match officials.

Ranchers Bees were slammed with another ₦1 million fine for failing to prevent match officials from being held hostage after the match, amounting to a total of N5 million which the club has to cough out as punishment.
“In accordance with Rule C26 of the Frameworks and Rules, you are required, within 48 hours of the date of this notice, to either submit to the summary jurisdiction and accept the sanctions imposed herein; or elect in writing to be dealt with by a disciplinary panel.”
“The fines shall be payable within seven working days from the expiration of the said appeal period.” The NPFL noted in a statement.
The club management has confirmed in a statement issued on Friday that it has reviewed the footage from the match and it is working assiduously on the directive by the NPFL to fish out the player involved in the physical altercation.
The statement focused on cooperating with the league framework and also evaluating their legal and administrative options regarding how to escape or reduce the hefty financial penalty imposed by the NPFL.
