Qatar earns first-ever World Cup point against Switzerland
Boualem Khoukhi scored a 95th minute equaliser to rescue Qatar from defeat in a 1-1 draw against Switzerland in a Group B clash at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Switzerland took an early lead through a Breel Embolo penalty in the 17th minute and they dominated the encounter after breaking the deadlock.
However, they failed to take most of their chances before they were punished by Qatar in the last-minute of the game.
Khoukhi rose highest to produce a stunning header to snatch a point for Qatar in the 95th minute.

In 2022, Qatar failed to earn any point as they lost all their matches to the Netherlands, Senegal and Ecuador.
Up next for Qatar is a clash against Canada on Thursday while Switzerland will take on Bosnia Herzegovina on the same day.
