Prenga is someone I really want to beat, and I want to do it in style —Joshua
British professional boxer Anthony Joshua has sounded a note of warning to his next opponent Kristian Prenga saying he (Prenga) is someone he really want to beat, and wants to do it in good fashion.
Joshua who was speaking ahead of their 12-round heavyweight bout set to take at the Jeddah Superdome in Riyadh, on Saturday, July 25, 2026, said that he doesn’t see his challenge with Prenga as a tune-up fight.
He said; “I don’t see it as a tune-up fight, and I don’t see it as the biggest challenge of my career. It’s a fight.
“You’ve got to believe in yourself, man. I’m working hard, you’ve got to say how you feel. I want to win, I want to do what I’m supposed to do.
“It’s nothing personal against Prenga, it could be anyone. It’s not a warm-up fight, it’s someone I really want to beat and I want to do it in good fashion as well.” Joshua added.

The powerful pugilist who held the unified heavyweight championship twice between 2017 and 2021 says he wants to show his skills again against Prenga.
According to Joshua who also held the International Boxing Organization (IBO) title during his reigns as champion, he cannot wait to fight his opponent because he wants to show how good he is.
He said; “I want to go in there and showcase my skills. It’s what this camp is about, it’s about improving my skills, I want to go in there and show how good I am.
“Only God knows. I’m just working towards a victory, but predicting how that victory comes, I don’t have a clue. He used to be a kickboxer, not MMA, but he’s got a mixed martial arts background. He’s mixed a few different disciplines, kicking, punching, so we’ll see how that crosses over.”
Joshua enters the ring for his first full match since his stoppage victory over Jake Paul in December 2025.
This fight serves as a tune-up for a massive, heavily anticipated showdown against Tyson Fury later in the year.
