Palmer, Alexander-Arnold back in England squad after World Cup snub
The pair of Cole Palmer of Chelsea and Trent-Alexander Arnold of Real Madrid are officially back in the England squad after they were both excluded from the Three Lions list for the last 2026 World Cup.
England head coach Thomas Tuchel listed the pair in his squad ahead upcoming UEFA Nations League fixtures against Spain, Czech Republic, and Croatia slated for the month of September.
Trent who was a high-profile omission from the England World Cup list returns since June 2025, while Palmer was selected following a strong start to the 2026/27 season.
Beside the return of Palmer and Trent, the squad features teenage Liverpool winger Rio Ngumoha, uncapped Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott, Arsenal’s Myles Lewis-Skelly, and Newcastle left-back Lewis Hall.

World Cup squad members Ollie Watkins, Ivan Toney, and Noni Madueke were dropped by Tuchel while the likes of John Stones, Reece James, Jordan Henderson, Djed Spence, and Dan Burn all missed out on squad selection due to fitness issues.
