Messi makes MLS history with 100 club goals
Retired Argentina soccer star Lionel Messi has emerged as the fastest player in Major League Soccer (MLS) history to reach 100 goals for his club in all competitions.
Messi achieved the feat on Thursday when he scored one of the goals as his club Inter Miami defeated Cruz Azul to win the Campeones Cup.
The former Barcelona player scored his 100th goal for his club in the 24th minute of the keenly encounter to reach 155 G/A in 114 games (100 goals, 55 assists) for Inter Miami.
Messi also providing the assist for Casemiro’s late goal in the final to lift his fifth official trophy with the South Florida club.

The record eight time Ballon d’Or winner now adds Campeones Cup to his trophy cabinet, which turns out to be the 49th trophy of his career.
