Joshua vs Fury showdown hits fresh sponsorship snag
The much-anticipated boxing showdown between Anthony Joshua and his compatriot Tyson Fury has hit a fresh sponsorship issue following a row between rival promoters of the fight.
Reports say the issue ahead of the fight between Joshua and Fury which is now set for December 11, at Cardiff Principality Stadium has to do with the involvement of UFC President, Dana White.
Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn is against White’s promotional involvement in the heavily anticipated all-British heavyweight boxing clash between hid client and Fury.
According to Eddie Hearn, there is no way White will be involved in promoting the fight.
He also claimed that Joshua’s contract explicitly features a “No Zuffa, No TKO, No Dana White” clause preventing White from having promotional authority over his fighter.
“Dana White cannot be involved with this fight promotion. Netflix clearly did not get the memo. No one talks to each other,” Hearn said.
“Then Netflix say the fight is in conjunction with Dana White. Now we have to go through that process and deal with it. It is a little bit annoying, but as I have shown through the UK battle that we won, we stand by our contracts.”

While reacting to the disagreement in a post shared on his official social media account, Fury accused Hearn and Joshua of trying to pull out of the fight.
According to Fury, the snag mainly has to do with Hearn’s ego as he is making up a million different things and threatening that the fight is not going to happen.
“Anthony Joshua and Eddie Hearn are trying to pull out of this fight. They are saying they are not going to fight now,” Fury posted on Instagram on Saturday.”
“It is mainly to do with Eddie Hearn’s ego. He is making up a million different things and threatening that we are not going to fight. Now you have got Turki Alalshikh finding alternative real men who will fight at the drop of a hat. Eddie Hearn has cost us the biggest fight in boxing history.” Fury said.
The promotional face-off between Hearn and White has now grown so severe that the fight itself has been thrown into another round of chaos just days after a date for the boxing showdown had been finalised.
