I’m ready to fight for Super Eagles shirt –Usor

Super Eagles star Moses Usor has warned his teammates that he is ready to fight for shirt in the team following his match-winning performance against Madagascar on Friday.

Usor came off the bench to score the winning goal on his debut for Nigeria in the 2-1 win over Madagascar at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.

It took him 14 minutes to announce himself in style to Nigerian football lovers with a stunning individual goal to hand Eric Chelle’s side the maximum points.

The LASK of Austria forward has vowed to keep working hard to earn a starting shirt in the Super Eagles.

Usor said: “Now it’s about work. One goal doesn’t make a career. I want to stay humble, keep learning from the senior players, and keep fighting for my shirt. I want Nigerians to know I’m here to give everything.”

Usor also expressed his admiration for Moses Simon, who made his 100th appearance for Nigeria against Madagascar.

He said: “I want to be like Moses Simon, his consistency, his humility, his commitment to the team over so many seasons.

“It’s special to share the name Moses and go through this night with him. Getting to 100 caps for Nigeria is a massive achievement.”

Usor is a product of a Lagos-based academy, 36 Lions FC, he joined Slavia Prague youth team in 2022, scoring six goals in nine games before he was promoted to the first team.

A year later, he joined Austrian Bundesliga side LASK, where he has scored 20 goals in all competitions.

Usor will be hoping to get another chance to impress when Nigeria take on Guinea-Bissau on Tuesday.
