Fury hints on using Joshua as stepping stone towards third fight with Usyk

Tyson Fury

British boxer Tyson Fury is talking tough ahead of his much-anticipated fight with his compatriot Anthony Joshua which will now be staged on December 11 at the Cardiff’s Principality Stadium in Wales.

Fury who spoke in a trending video online declared that he foresees a one-sided victory against Joshua and he sees the fight as preparation for another meeting with Oleksandr Usyk, who defeated him twice on points in 2024.

He said that Joshua stands no chance against him and promised to silence his compatriot in the sixth or seventh round when they both encounter each other in the ring.

“I’m just going to knock him out, one hundred per cent,” Fury said on the Furocity YouTube channel.

“I’m going to box the head off him and stop him inside six or seven rounds.

“I’m only using Joshua as a stepping stone, a warm-up to Usyk,” he noted.

Fury claimed that the former two-time world champion would struggle to cope with his style of boxing and also questioned his staying power, speed and stamina.

“Joshua, for me, is an old bum. A weightlifter. Too many weights, not enough speed. Too many weights, no cardio. So I will cut through him like a hot knife through butter,” he said.

While a pre-fight press conference remains scheduled for September 30, Fury has accused Joshua’s team of trying to back out, even floating David Benavidez as a potential opponent if the Joshua fight collapses.
