World number one Sinner pulls out of Shanghai Masters
Tennis world number one Jannik Sinner has pulled out of the 2026 Shanghai Masters following his battle with a knee injury.
The Italian has been plagued by a knee injury since a four-set victory over Alexander Zverev in the Wimbledon final back in July.
He missed the North American hard-court swing, including the US Open, and the China Open in Beijing.
Sinner announced his withdrawal on social media on Saturday.

He wrote: “Unfortunately, I won’t be able to play at the Rolex Shanghai Masters this year as I had hoped,” Sinner wrote.
“I always enjoy playing in front of the Shanghai fans and I’m very sorry that I won’t be able to do so next week. Thank you for all your support. I’m looking forward to seeing you again next year!”
Sinner has won 30 ATP Tour-level singles titles, including five majors, ten Masters and two ATP Finals titles. He led Italy to back-to-back Davis Cup crowns in 2023 and 2024.
