Oshoala leads Super Falcons to Zambia victory
Asisat Oshoala scored the only goal to lead the Super Falcons to a 1-0 win over Zambia in their second match at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations on Saturday.
Justine Madugu made five changes to the team that lost 3-2 to Malawi in the opening game.
Asisat Oshoala, Rofiat Imuran, Deborah Abiodun, Uchenna Kanu and Jennifer Echegini started for the defending champions.
Oshoala scored the opening goal in the eighth minute, finishing off a long pass before the ball bounced off her to sail into the net.
Super Falcons defender Blessing Demehin was sent off for a foul with five minutes to go in the first half.

Justine Madugu-led team played the entire second half with a player down but they held on to seal a vital win to boost their chances of qualifying for the quarter-finals.
The Super Falcons now occupy the second place in the group after Malawi’s 3-1 victory over Egypt.
Debutants Malawi have now qualified for the quarter-finals of the tournament with two wins from two matches.
Up next for Nigeria is a clash against Egypt on Wednesday.
