NSC charges Eaglets to win WAFU as Eboboritse unveils 25-man squad
The Nigeria Sports Commission (NSC) has charged the Golden Eaglets to go for glory ahead of the WAFU B U-17 tournament taking place in Burkina Faso.
The charge was made on Monday by the Director General of the NSC Bukola Olapade who made a courtesy visit to the team’s training camp.
Olapade urged the team to stay focused and determined with a clear target on securing qualification for the 2027 African U-17 Cup of Nations and ultimately the FIFA U-17 World Cup.
“You are Nigerians and we are resolute people, so go there, fight hard and win the WAFU tournament and qualify for the AFCON. At the AFCON tournament, I expect you to also go there and qualify for the World Cup,” Olopade told the players.
His message comes after coach of the Golden Eaglets of Nigeria, Eboboritse Uwejamomere named a strong 25-man squad ahead of the upcoming WAFU B U-17 Championship.
The Golden Eaglets have been drawn in Group B alongside Niger Republic, Ivory Coast and hosts Burkina Faso in the regional championship which is scheduled to kick off from next week Wednesday.
