Man City beat Arsenal to blow title race wide open
Manchester City have blown the Premier League title race wide open after beating leaders Arsenal 2-1 in a top-of-the-table clash at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.
Pep Guardiola’s side are now three points behind the Gunners with a game in hand, and with five game weeks left till the end of season.
The hosts drew the first blood when Rayan Cherki scored on 16 minutes before Arsenal equalised less than two minutes after through Kai Havertz.
Erling Haaland then netted the winner in the second half, making it 23 goals for the Norwegian star in the Premier League this season.
At the Merseyside derby at Hill Dickinson Stadium, Everton were beaten 2-1 by Liverpool.
Beto had cancelled out Mohamed Salah’s strike for Everton before Virgil van Dijk got on the end of Dominik Szoboszlai’s corner in added time.
In the other Premier League games played on Sunday, Aston Villa secured a 4-3 win against Sunderland in a seven-goal thriller; and Nottingham Forest beat Burnley 4-1.
