Lagos approved to host 2026 CAF Awards
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has approved the city of Lagos State as the host of the 2026 CAF Awards ceremony which is set to take place on Monday, December 7.
The venue and date for the event which will take place at the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and Creative Arts was made known by CAF following a virtual Executive Committee meeting chaired its President Patrice Motsepe.
CAF further disclosed during the virtual meeting that Nigeria has also been given the opportunity to host the 48th CAF Ordinary General Assembly on Saturday, 21 November 2026.

This marks the first time that Nigeria will be hosting the prestigious CAF Awards since the year 2015 (though some reports note previous editions in 2008, 2013, and 2017).
The Executive Committee also approved the CAF Competitions Calendar for 2026–2030 period, providing Member Associations, Clubs and other stakeholders with greater certainty in planning for CAF Competitions and Events.
