Getting my first Super Eagles call-up a dream come true –Ryan Alebiosu

Blackburn Rovers FC right-back defender Ryan Alebiosu says getting his first international call from Eric Sekou Chelle to play for the Super Eagles was a dream come true.

Alebiosu who made the remarks in a chat with Rovers TV said that he didn’t think much of getting an international call-up and when he did, it became the biggest highlight of his career.

The versatile player who signed for Blackburn Rovers on an initial three-year contract with the option of an extra 12 months on 11 July 2025, said that his desire is to continue representing Nigeria on the in stage.

“I think it was just a bonus,” Alebiosu said.

“When I signed, I didn’t think much of getting international call-up. When it does happen it was like a dream come true. For that to happen, it was one of the biggest highlights of my career, playing for my country and getting called up. It really made my season as well.

The player who scored his first goal for Blackburn Rovers, an equaliser in a 2–1 victory over Southampton on 25 October 2025, added that getting his first cap for Nigeria boosted his confidence even more.

He said; “When the international stuff happened, it just boost my confidence even more, it made me realize there’s a lot that could have been done and a lot has happened but I am just grateful.

“It’s been brilliant as a team and them getting called up for Nigeria, it’s a honour. Getting that at the age of 23, which was the half of last season I got the call-up, it just gives me more hunger for the next season. There’s still a lot to improve on but now just give me that belief that there’s more to bring to the table.”
