First Daily Sports launches with fans at the core
A new digital sports platform, First Daily Sports, has officially launched with a focus on delivering fan-driven stories and analysis tailored to the evolving interests of modern sports audiences.
The platform, which commences operations today, May 1, 2026, aims to redefine sports storytelling by placing fans at the centre of its editorial approach.
According to its management, First Daily Sports seeks to go beyond traditional reporting by exploring the emotions, debates, and perspectives that shape the fan experience.
Speaking ahead of the launch, Founding Editor Ben Ugbana noted that the platform was created to address the gap between conventional sports coverage and what audiences truly engage with.
“The business of Sports revolves around the fans. If there are no fans, there will be no game like we have it today,” he said.
“Their passion, their opinions, and their reactions are what give the game its meaning. And so at First Daily Sports, we are committed to telling stories that reflect that reality.”

The organisation also plans to roll out a podcast focused on trending topics and untold stories within the sports ecosystem.
With its fan-centered philosophy, First Daily Sports enters the media space positioning itself as a fresh voice committed to telling sports stories with greater relevance and connection.
