Arteta, Arsenal did an incredible job, says Simeone
Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone has congratulated Arsenal after the Premier League side reached the Champions League final.
Simeon, who reacted to a clear penalty call on Antoine Griezmann in the second leg Champions League semifinal against Arsenal, did not fail to hail his opponents.
Griezmann appeared to have been fouled by an Arsenal player in the 18-yard box but the referee chose to allow the game to continue to the dismay of many Atletico Madrid fans.
While reacting to the decision by the referee for not blowing his whistle for a penalty, Simeone said that sometimes referees decisions can be good for us, sometimes not
He said: “No sense to talk about that CLEAR penalty on Griezmann. It doesn’t make sense to talk about it now.

“Sometimes referees decisions can be good for us, sometimes not. Tonight, we were unlucky”. Simeone added.
The Argentine gaffer also took time out to congratulate Arsenal saying they deserve to be in the final because they have been fighting for years to be there.
“Congratulations to Arsenal, they deserve as they’ve been fighting for years to get to the final.
“Mikel Arteta did an incredible job so far, so I am happy for them.
“We did compete at incredible level against a team with way stronger financial power than us. Thanks to everyone.
“We need to accept and thank these players for what they did,” Simeone concluded.
