Aduku foresees brighter future for Falconets players despite World Cup exit
Moses Aduku, the head coach of the Falconets of Nigeria foresees a brighter future ahead for players of the team despite crashing out of the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup taking place in Poland.
The quarter-final game between the two teams which was destined for extra-time suddenly swinged in favour of the Colombians when Valerin Loboa scored a late minute goal to secure a semi-final place for her team.
The defeat to Colombia ended Nigeria’s impressive run at the tournament, which included a dominant 10-1 win over New Caledonia in the group stage and 3-0 round-of-16 victory against England.
Speaking after the game, Aduku said that the tournament has turned out to be a good one for the Falconets and from the look of things, the future of the players is very bright.

The Falconets are now heading back to Nigeria after their elimination from the U-20 Women’s World Cup. The team is expected to break camp with players returning home following their heart breaking 1-0 defeat to Colombia in Łódź, Poland.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is also expected will review the team’s tournament performance before planning future developmental engagements for players aging out of the U-20 bracket.
